“Purple Trillium”

South Royalton, Vermont


The Purple Trillium is a somewhat common species in the North East.  It’s often referred to as “Stinking Trillium” I assume because of its putrid smell which probably attracts insects.  My friend found this gorgeous group of flowers and I returned the next day with my camera to capture them.  It was a nice overcast day which is perfect for flower photography.  It probably took about an hour to capture this because of the wind which wouldn’t break for even a second
