The Great Morel Mushroom!
These are amazing....fresh or dried. I found these in my neighborhood and ate them up fresh that very day! Like all the other mushrooms, you gotta be careful as there are poisonous look-alike mushrooms, most notably the false morel. The easiest way to differentiate the two is cutting it down the middle. As you can see, the morels are hollow, false morels are solid throughout.
Morels with Halibut!
Some butter, salt, 6 or so morels and my trusty cast-iron. Saute these delicious shrooms for 10 min or so, then pour over pan fried halibut. It doesn’t get much better.
